Dr. Sarah Germain

REGISTERED CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Finding the right support can be an important step toward healing and growth. As a Clinical Psychologist, I strive to create a safe, understanding space where you can explore your experiences, build insight, and develop practical strategies for change. My goal is to help clients feel seen, supported, and empowered as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions.

My approach to therapy is integrative, meaning I draw from several evidence-based perspectives to best meet your unique needs. These include Psychodynamic, Attachment, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Client-Centered approaches. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, thoughts, and emotions in a supportive environment that fosters self-understanding and positive change.

I have a special interest in working with individuals experiencing mood or anxiety concerns, trauma-related symptoms, stress, life transitions, grief, and anger. I also work extensively with couples navigating conflict and families managing parenting or behavioural challenges in children, using the Gottman Method Couples Counselling and Family Systems Theory to strengthen communication and connection.

In addition to therapy, I provide comprehensive psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. This includes psycho-educational assessments to evaluate learning strengths and challenges, as well as psycho-diagnostic assessments to clarify mental health concerns and guide treatment planning. My goal in assessment work is to offer clear, compassionate feedback and practical recommendations that help clients, families, and educators better understand and support an individual’s needs.

I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Manitoba and my clinical internship through a consortium that included Stony Mountain Institution, Forensic Psychological Services, and the Couples Counselling Project. I am a Registered Clinical Psychologist (C. Psych.) with the Psychological Association of Manitoba.
