CANADIAN CERTIFIED COUNSELLOR

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Nutritional Sciences from the University of Manitoba and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

Since 2007, I have supported clients through one-on-one and group nutrition counselling and wellness programs.

At Peace of Mind Therapy, I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, eating issues (including digestive concerns, bariatric surgery support, and other gastrointestinal problems), the lasting effects of childhood abuse and trauma, and women navigating peri- and menopause.

My approach is grounded in Adlerian therapy, which emphasizes encouragement, social connection, and a collaborative, strengths-based view of change. I also integrate EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-focused therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, exposure therapy, and behavioral activation. I draw on Nutrition Therapy to explore not only what we eat, but why, when, and how — helping clients create realistic, sustainable plans to improve their quality of life.

I practice under the supervision of clinic director and registered psychologist, Dr. Kelly Penner Hutton.
